I’ve decided to revisit my weekly links roundup! Every Friday I’ll be tossing out some of my favorite links from the week.
Favorite Reads –
If you know me, you know I don’t care for Taylor Swift. At all. She’s Ruben’s favorite, but I just can’t stand how disingenuous and fake she comes off, as much as I think she tries to do the opposite. With the release of her new single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” my feelings intensified (also, Ruben LOVES her and sang that song constantly the week it came out). Anyway, I could go on forever about my dislike for T-Swift, but I’ll just link this interesting read analyzing Taylor’s need (or want?) to always play/be the victim.
Favorite Advice –
Stumbled on this article from Darling Mag on how to stand out on a small team, something I live on the daily (I’m actually a team of one in my work life, but part of a larger (yet still small) operations team).
Another Darling Mag find on how to win at your side hustle. Definitely some inspo in there that I can apply to my life. Between working full time, being a mom, a partner, a blogger and also working towards some freelance copy writing, I need all the help I can in that side hustle life!
Favorite Watches –
I recently started watching The Wine Show on Hulu and I can’t stop, won’t stop! It’s like Chef’s Table, meets Top Gear, meets The Great British Baking Show, meets An Idiot Abroad. I’m not super invested in learning about wine, but I love a good British travel/food show.
Definitely not current or relevant to really anything, but I love Rudy Francisco’s poetry. He has the perfect mix of humor and pathos and it makes my soul happy.
Favorite Threads (Me) –
Cooler weather also brings some misty days! I have these gorg rain boots (mine are a matte eggplant color…so pretty!) from Sam Edleman, but I’m pining for a pair of tall rain boots, too. Of course, you can’t go wrong with Hunter!
Dying to get my hands (legs) on a pair of these moto leggings. That burgundy color is gorgeous!
Favorite Threads (Elizabeth) –
I’m going a little crazy over dressing Elizabeth for the fall. GIMME ALL THE TINY CARDIGANS PLEASE!!!
Favorite Tunes –
This is as far from Top 40 (or really even relevant) as you can get, but this song has been stuck in my head lately! It’s been the song I sing/hum to Elizabeth as we are getting ready for nap time and it works like a charm. So soft and soothing. It’s from the 1959 Audrey Hepburn/Anthony Perkins movie “Green Mansions.” I don’t really recommend the movie, it has a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, but this song is one of my favorites!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
